Why do women care so much about height?

Question

A lot of women seem to only date guys that are 6'2" and above. Height doesn't even have anything to do physical attractiveness of a man's face or body.

You are right. Numbers such as height, weight and age does not matter in a relationship. Love does not know any numbers.
But this is a two sided game, men put a lot of expectations toward women, looks, body sizes and shapes, too much rule over body parts and the body image. I wouldn't be surprised when women hold their own expectations.

However, this game is not acceptable to everybody. Not all men , not all women, not everybody appoint such rules ahead as dating or relationship principles. There is no generalization.

Because height IS a factor of physical attraction. Is a persons weight influence their appearance? Absolutely it does.
I can't say that I know any girls that would turn a guy down if he's not 6'2, but the vast majority would prefer he is taller. It is basic, subconscious biological programming. There are specific traits that are typically classed as masculine or feminine, height is one of them.

As a tall girl, I think I can help by naming one reason. The answer is in the very basic way guys and girls think. Guys want to produce offspring and girls want a protector.

When you're almost as tall as a guy and you hug him, your chin just kinda pokes into his shoulder and you feel very "exposed" to the world still. When a girl puts her head a guys' chest, it feels more protective. So, in order to achieve that state of protection that most girls crave, they need taller guys to wrap them in warm hugs.

Yep I see this all the time in real life, dude could be ugly as sin, and a girl will date hik because he is 6 feet or taller. Then its funny how some women get mad about how men prefer a slim woman but they get to demand a height preference. My gender is annoying sometimes

Well... I can't recall the last time I saw a woman in a bar standing there with a measuring tape and rejecting all the men who didn't cross the 6'2 line. Then again, I rarely go to bars and such so I might have missed out on the most recent trend...😏

No idea. I am not that particular about a guy's height but maybe because I am tiny myself. I have dated a guy who's 5'6. My current boyfriend is 6'0".

I have rejected two guys who are like 6'5". Just felt awkward standing next to them.

Generally they said that but if they find a man of average height and shorter they doesn't mind it. 6'2 is very tall that's surprise me they want a guys that tall. In my country when a girl have an minimum height for guys that's 5'9.

It had to do with overall attractiveness. To me a guy isn't attractive unless he is tall. I don't say that all tall men are attractive, they are not, but a nice face and body isn't enough for me to think someone is attractive. He needs to have a good looking face, fit/slim/athletic body and be tall for me to be attracted to him. That's just how it is and nothing I decided.

Some of them have said that they like wearing heels and dating a short guy they wouldn't get to wear them or they tower over them.

So yeah some women like wearing heels so much they will avoid short guys because of that
