Why does my female friend tease me and look at my lips a lot?

So this girl and I have been friends for well over a year. She already knows I like her. But she picks on me a lot. She teases other people too, but I get picked on way more than anyone. Particularly she makes fun of how I'm single and lonely, and how I can't respond to a flirting girl and how I can't ask a girl out. We got in a misunderstanding which resulted in me in telling her why I like her, and she typed in a bunch of hearts to me and said she was flattered. Then when I saw her the next day she ran up behind me and gave me a big hug and said "You're so sweet" to me like 20 times, and rested her head on me. But whenever I'm in class she just stares at me for a long time, and it always seems to be at my lips, and she did that today, and even playfully mocked me once. Why is she like this?

She is very flirty and teases you because she likes you! You are deep in oblivion... it's obvious she feels something for you. She wants to make fun of you playfully (about being single, etc) because she thinks you will get a reaction out of it, which draws your attention to her and gets you thinking about her. And that's the same reason for all the other things she does. And the hug and resting head does mean a lot - a girl will not want to be close to a guy she has no feelings for or doesn't find attractive... nor does a guy want that. She likes getting affection and attention from you. And the lips... I think it is another simple sign - lips are attractive to both genders (it evokes kissing, obviously) and I've read that if a girl or guy likes you they will tend to look at your lips, just like a girl/guy will look at your face or *certain* body parts - it is attractive to them. She finds you cute / attractive in her eyes and likes you and probably thinks of you pretty often. It sounds like you have a very good chance with her, I would try to get to know her more, talk to her more often and text her more. Maybe try to set up a day together, not like a date but a friends get-together? Like go to a park and walk or something if you can or after school maybe shoot some hoops or something?

Coming from a girl myself I would do the same things to a guy I liked... and lips are attractive to me (lol). :) Good luck... I hope it works out.!
