Why do girls take take a lot of selfies?

Just go on instagram.. it's like a billion people taking selfies.. Yes some are guys but most are girls. (Btw if ur a dinosaur don't answer 😂). please explain ladies

I used to be addicted to taking selfies - hundreds a day - when I was at the peak of my mental health problems.

I did it because I was insecure and wanted to take pictures that made me feel pretty.

After I got mental health help, and recovered from the worst of my mental health issues, and raised my self-esteem, I rarely take selfies anymore.

We just want to show to the world what we're up to. We want to show who we're with.. who makes us happy... we want to show off our friends.. we want to show that we're having a good time. w also want to show off how we look in that moment... most importantly, selfie's are a way for us to save memories of being w that person

Well after they do all that makeup and all that, I'd probably take a pic too. Put on a duck face and pucker up or something lol. I would like girls to take pictures of themselves without makeup, just so they see that they actually look good without it too. And many times the makeup takes away more than they realize

Women's value in romantic relationahips, and sometimes even in a societal sense, comes from their external appearance. Women naturally already worry more about it than men. Add the fact that we're all able to take instant pictures of ourselves all day, and viola, you have women taking selfies constantly.

Ego problems I hate selfies I dont even have one on my phone, I found them senseless, stupid and boring, looking at your own photo and when you hit a certain age if you are obsessed with selfies you may have a image problem. But todays generation that is one of the problems with the technology

I occasionally take some selfies, but post only a few, and that would be if I'm particularly happy that day in that pictures, or for my workout progress over the years. I don't like narcissistic behaviors, and I don't be, and I look at other ladies' selfies too.

There are guys who take more selfies than some ladies... I have met and known.

For some people it can be about capturing and sharing memories, but if more than half of the pictures in your phone are selfies then you have a problem.

I mostly take photos of nature and animals. They are much more beautiful than some attention seeking self-absorted girls.

I've taken selfies before too but only to see how bad I looked not how good I looked. I'm not one that's stuck on myself for sure and I certainly wouldn't have posted them anywhere or even used any unless one turned out to be a retro picture and they only one I had I needed.
