What does it mean if a girl says "you're a gem"?

This girl I met recently who I've been hanging out with and texting said "you're a gem" after I gave her a pep talk about her project she's been working on. The signs and indicators of interest are there for the most part- was this flirty?

I just went with "no" even if there's some remote chance the answer could be "yes", I think it's better to assume not. That said, you might still casually ask her to hang out some time, see what happens. It shouldn't matter regardless of the answer, if you're interested in her, to make some moves.

In terms of reading compliments, about the only type of compliment I found reliable to near-guarantee that a girl is sexually attracted to you is something like, "Your body is so hot." Ones like, "You're wonderful", "You're so amazing", "You're a gem" could often just be completely friendly, not a guarantee that she's into you that way.

Yeah, OP suggested there were others sign which might lean the answer more to a "yes". I just think it's safer to assume "no" until he makes some more moves, since I could still imagine a girl doing all these things if she just thought he was a very valuable friend.

@AlDoor6730 I think easiest way given any doubt is just make a move, casually, like ask her to hang out some time. It's easier to find out through making some moves here and there -- you get so much information than trying to read into a compliment to see if she likes you as more than a friend.
