I met a woman at a store and was talking to her for a bit. I asked for her number, awkwardly I might add. She told me only if we could be just friends and that she has a boyfriend. I texted her and told her it was nice meeting her and she texted me back soon after. So why exchange numbers if you have a boyfriend though? I actually want to respect the relationship.

2. She does have a boyfriend, but it open to meeting other guys.
3. She didn't want to reject you so she gave you the number anyway. I've gotten numbers from girls with boyfriends before who said they were giving me their number for the purposes of being friends as well, I never really bothered to care though.
