Why would/did she give me her number if she has a boyfriend?

Okay this is sort of a 2 part question. I've been liking this girl who I'm acquaintances with for a while now. Today I asked her if she'd like to go out sometime and she said yes. So she gave me her number and I added it into my phone. Then I saw her profile picture on whatsapp and it's a picture of her kissing a guy who I can only assume is her boyfriend. My question is:

1. If I asked you girls "would you like to go out sometime?" what would you think that implied? Was I not clear enough that I wanted to take her out on a date?

2. If she has a boyfriend why did she give me her number? Did she not understand what I meant when I asked if she'd like to go out sometime?

I would also like to add, me being the observant self I've noticed something about her. Half the time I see her she has a ring on her wedding finger, and half the time she doesn't. But I don't think it's an actual engagement or wedding ring. Just looks like a normal trendy ring.

1) maybe it isn't a recent picture
2) she felt weird saying no and thought what's the harm in being friends

My advice to you would to just be straight up. Tell her you wanted to get to know her as more than a friend and then she'll need to tell you if she has a boyfriend.
Or if you don't want to be that direct you could beat around the bush and ask if she's seeing anyone right now?

I think if you didn't specify that it was a date, there is a possibility that she might've thought about it to be just as friends. Or even if she thought it was a date, she thought it'd be rude to say that she has a boyfriend given that you haven't said it was a date and might pull the "oh my god why do girls think that we're hitting on them when we're not" card (not blaming you, but that's how some of our thoughts go).

I would assume it was a date. But others assume its just going out as friends. If she has a boyfriend and has given you her number then she's messin with your head. Or either that she wants to be greedy and eventually use you for sex. Unless this guy is just a fuck buddy. I'm just guessing.

Well, I would think you're asking me on a date. And, in this day and age, a picture doesn't mean anything, even if it's her profile picture. That could just be a gay best friend or a random guy. Doesn't necessarily mean it's her boyfriend. Ask her if she has a boyfriend.

She's a cheater and unfaithful. I don't mess around with taken/married women. I have before and didn't find out they were taken till after we hooked up and then you know what I did? I backed the fuck off and cut off all contact.

No reason to have someone's bf/husband after me when I had no way to know, especially when the women initiated it.

I get bored easy I don't really hate people like that I know how to spot them when I see it. Their special type of people I normally they do well with each other.

Like one of my best girlfriends she has dated multiple people at the same time but everybody knew that she was dating other people than just them. She didn't hide it from them she told them out right. She's the kind of person that needs a lot of love and wants to be loved by a lot of people and she has a lot of love to give.
