Yes and no: the internet is a sausage fest and has plenty of thirsty guys, so girls get inflated egos in the sense they overrate their own attractiveness vs guys, but if the social media platform allows for easy viewing of the female competition (like instagram) then girls can feel more pressured about their appearance and get deflated egos in the sense they underrate their own attractiveness or lifestyle vs other girls.

It's not social media inflating egos, it's people inflating egos. Girls wouldn't get inflated egos if guys didn't fawn over them like they were somehow more than human. Guys' egos are equally inflated through social media, as is evident through the infinite number of male Instagrammers and Youtubers who are nothing more than vanity and teeth. Social media is very much centred around popularity and approval.

Yes, they are putting pics to social media and boys and horny ones come and comment that she is beautiful sexy etc etc. and she feels more confident , she thinks she is goddes or sth. In Turkey it works like that I don't know the other countries.

@JohnDoe3000 It's super simple. People who post pictures online being like "how do I look" aren't secure and they're NEVER going to be happy as long as depend on other people to validate them. So we know that giving these people an avenue only compounds their problems no matter how they look.

Yes. Ex. There's this one specific girl on social media who is clearly a 4, but given the amount of desperate men on her Instagram complementing her she thinks she's a 10. Regardless of how many designer brands she flaunts, she's still a 4.
