Why does the skin around my lips hurt after making out?

So after making out with my boyfriend my lips mostly just turn red, but that's all. However this time im experiencing this burning sensation on the skin just above my upper lips. It's also a bit red. This time when we started making out, it hurt a little but that feeling soon dissappeared. What could this be, and how can I get rid of it?

No, basically you two are creating friction when you kiss which is irritating the already chapped area. Only help would be to stop kisses as much for a day or two
