Why do people act differently around their crush?

Why are people shy around their crushes? What makes them act differently whenever their crush is nearby? Does this behavior come automatically or do people force themselves to show a different personality?

They are shy and act differently because they like this person and wants to impress him/her and do want to end up doing anything stupid, so they pay more attention to their actions and words, which is why sometimes they become speechless. I don't believe it is forced. If someone is 'pretending' they are shy, then they sound like a player and I would think that it may be easy to figure out over time. Although I heard it is possible, I believe that it is hard to fake blushing when in the presence of someone you like.

Generally people do not notice they are doing it, and it is because they want to get their attention and get that person to like them.
