what does it mean when guys call you a doll?why would a guy say `te amo linda`?

Yeh it means he thinks your cute and likes you, my boyfriend calls me a doll because he thinks I'm cute, there are a lot of people out there though that get confused with the meaning by saying it's a way of disrespecting you just because people call girls who are totally fake "barbie dolls" but they don't know what a person really looks like over the internet when giving advice, really closed minded lol. and they think just because things have "changed" as were made to believe they think people shouldn't say it lmao... what do they know... it's a very nice word to say to a girl and for sure it means the guy is a total keeper because a**holes would never say that to a girl, like never... all they say is stuff like baby and sexy, particurly baby because they can't remember all the girls names they are with haha.

Linda = Beautiful, or your name is Linda

Te Amo Linda, can mean a couple of things:

1) I love you, Linda
2) I love you, Beautiful

Depending on your relationship with this guy, I would not put too much into it. Men from Spanish-speaking countries are natural charmers and use words like linda, preciosa, corazon, bonita, etc... all the time. Be patient, take your time and don't assume he truly loves you. May just be a flirt.

That's more something an elderly lady would call you. "You're a doll, thanks for the help." If a guy says it, it might be like, "Be a doll and get me a beer." I think it's used often if a man/elderly woman lol is thanking you for help or telling you to do something for them. It's like a bribe or used for gratitude! LOL
