Girls, are you intimidated/afraid of muscular guys?

So i have a very muscular physique (not in the disgusting way, but just very obvious) and not the most friendly looking face. I noticed a lot of times that girls seem to get really freakin nervous and scared when i look at them or approach them.

-Would you say you have a harder time to open up to, or approach a really muscular guy? Are you intimidated by it and might even think "oh this douche prolly thinks he is better than me"?

Sidenote: I only ever encountered this phenomen since going to the gym, i didn't have this problem before

I love a muscular man, since I'm a workout fanatic myself. I like a man who speaks my language, and better than I - after all, he's the guy, it'd be awkward if I knew more about fitness (overall) than he did, since I'd feel bad and worry about offending him as well, since a lot of guys have ego.

But back to your question, I would have to see how muscular you are, and how your face is, otherwise I won't be able to honestly tell, but I've seen a few guys that look tough at the gym, but I'm usually not intimidated by any guy, but I don't talk to them, neither do they to me, so I can't accurately guage.

Oh, there was a guy that had pretty wide shoulder, big muscles, and his face and overall did look a little intimidating, but I heard him talk to other guys, so I wasn't that intimidated if I had to pass by him to get to an equipment.

(He actually ended up talking to me and wanted to get something from me, because he said it explicitly, but I avoided him from that time on)

For you’re physique I’d be gawking which I’m sure many other ladies would do but as for you resting bitch face, those are always interesting as you never know what the person is like but I guess most people would assume from your resting bitch face that you’re jerk or something and then not bother to take the time because it might seem to hard. Oddly enough there are some exercises you can do that help relax your eyes and mouth/jaw area (its for the rbf) but I’m unsure if they work.
I personally prefer the resting bitch face.

Easier for you to get girls? don’t get me wrong muscles are great but at the end of the day it means nothing; it’s just something nice to look at.
Maybe if you see someone you physically like, TRY lift the corners of your mouth slightly- should be enough indication for the girl to know you’re interested. We live in a lazy society, no one is willing to work hard enough for something or someone so if a girl is put off by your resting bitch face then oh well🤷🏼‍♀️ move on and find someone that overlooks that and that can see right through it (I say this because so many people just judge others looks and give themselves an idea of what you’re like before you even have the chance to do so) There’s billions of girls in this world so just because some are whimps doesn’t mean the rest are too ahah. Not specifically "get girls", but ease my way into getting to know them/starting initial attraction.
I would lie if i say that wasn't the case to some extent. Unfortunately it always attracts the exact opposite of my type. Girls who are very very confident, and for me, on the other side of "cute and kind".

@Asker: That makes sense. Only girls who are overly confident will have that courage to approach a muscular guy with RBF, but it's also quite true that not many of them will be nice, since the ones who are overly confident are usually conceited.

I actually was thinking of that word RBF as well, but the term sounds too gender specific for females, but yes it could be. I think you'll just need to smile when you talk to girls and exuberate your personality.

I personally kind of have RBF (?) I'm not sure. Some guys think that I'm pretty/cute, etc. whereas some think that I look like I'm serious and a difficult person until they talk to me and change their mind

Id find it just a tad intimidating, but it does depend on how you are building your muscles at the gym tbh. If you are trying to be a bodybuilder, where every single muscle is accentuated... I would be extremely uncomfortable, I find it kind of unnatural and it's kinda like how guys hate when girls do fake things. Bodybuilding isn't fake per se... but some guys really do opt for fake ways of accomplishing that same look. I especially don't like it when guys work out the sternocleidomastoid (I think) and make it seem like they have no neck... that gives me the heebie Jeebies

But, if the guy is working out to tone, and is looking more for function than appearance, I tend to admire the muscular look more as it seems more natural and it doesn't make me feel like they can pound me in a second or appear very aggressive (altho they may very well be... but I'm talking about first impressions here).
Anyway, I've seen some people that have really nice physiques that are quite muscular and I didn't feel the urge to hide lol.

honestly, kind of. it's not that I think you're a douche or anything, but just how I think of myself. I already have a bit of social anxiety, so seeing someone much bigger than me makes me think, "oh, hey, this person won't want to talk to you." not because you're big-headed or anything, just my own insecurities.

Interesting. Do you think this is the case for a lot of girls? I didn't think about it from that perspective but it makes sense, because guys are intimidated by really really attractive girls too, for the same reason (insecurity)

Maybe you should just try to slow down building muscles sincerity has to go with ur features if you have a strong appeal or aura already then being fit and have a little muscle is okay or you'll really free out some girls.

No except if he's like 6'8 then I would be afraid to come near him. It happened to me last week the guys was over 6'7 for sure and was a bit muscular, it looked scary.

Depends on the face. For you since you have a not very friendly face I would probably be intimidated at least because I'm 4'11" (150cm) and 99 lbs (45 kg) and it's easy to hurt or carry people who are small.

I really don’t think that being muscular is a bad thing. Coming from a girl who is insecure about muscluar thighs I’m sure it could intimidating but I would rather get to know you as a person than care about your muscular physique
