I don't think there's really any deeper meaning, like I use the word "dude" a lot and I still use it to call my friends. Not because of anything reason though, it's not because I'm used to talking to guys, it's not because I'm trying to be masculine, it's not because I think the other person as a guy. I just like using the word and your friend probably does too.
Not much tbh. I acciendently call guys I like "dude" all the time and then they probably read wayyy too much into it

It’s really just an expression. Sort of like if a girl did something that impressed me when I was younger I’d say “Dude!!!”
