What does it mean when a girl calls you "man"?

A very close (female) friend of mine and I have been getting much closer lately. I have begun to have feelings for her. Occasionally, she will call me "man" or her "bud". I feel like I have seen her express signs of interest in me. We have talked about very personal things before, but at times she talks to me very "friend-like".

So girls, have you ever called a guy you're interested in "man" or " dude" or "bud"?

Guys, has a girl that was romantically interested in you ever called you "man", "dude", etc?

She is a very chill, laid back type of girl. It's not outside her normal speech patterns.

Naw, only my buddies. I usually use bro, dude, man to address my male friends if I see them as well a friend. But... I think I have used it with one of my crushes... to try to keep things light and not make him feel like I'm coming on too strongly. Maybe that maybe what this chicks is doing :) just keep it light, and if you want to know how she feels ask her but be prepared to express how you feel as well.

I do that often, depending on the dude. Doesn't mean I'm not interested the guy. Sometimes I just enjoy calling him dude or adding man somewhere in the sentence.

Bud is something I'd call my dog though. Wouldn't want to kill the romance by doing that.

I call any guy that's a friend man, including anyone I'm crushing on. I will say that if I'm interested I'm more aware of my speech patterns and try to keeper of it as casually as possible, so I probably use man and dude quite a bit more when I like a guy.

I've never used those terms to address a man I'm with. I don't think I would use those terms.
