So i recently found out today that the consultant I worked for in pediatrics was cheated on by her husband. Now, her husband comes off as a really nice guy, is tall, good looking for his age and is white which in terms of the Caribbean setting gives him a boost in status compared to other men.
Now, the story goes that our consultant had a nervous breakdown when she was a medical intern (which was 13 years ago) because her still current husband cheated on her. She is still married to this guy and they have 2 children presently. Now, this got me thinking of just how common it is for women to swallow their pride and accept infidelity of men they are married to. It was understandable in the 1930's and past where women had less rights and depended on the man for survival. However, in todays culture i just don't understand why so many smart, intelligent women are still willing to accept infidelity from men in order to keep up the appearance of a happy couple. Cheating
Why do you think a large percentage of women stay with their husbands who cheat on them?
And the other answer is, when you're fifty and you don't think you'll have any other options other than loneliness should you leave, you'll actually understand the answer to this question.
If they have kids it’s to keep the family together. There’s research all over about broken homes affecting kids and let’s face it no one wishes their kid a harder life...
