Why did my female friend start acting weird when I found a girlfriend?

OK, I've been friends with this girl for the past 2 years. We had a little thing at the start but then turned into friends. I was cool with that, but then when I found a girlfriend she seemed to have changed. She acted completely fine with it, and told her to bring my girlfriend to her party to meet. Then when I got there, she wasn't very friendly, and neither were a couple of her friends. She blamed her behavior on being drunk. Then the next time we hung out I was by myself, with a few other guy friends and she was all over me trying to get my attention! On top of this one of my best friends has been seeing her for the past little while. So when she was being like that it made it even worse, and the situation completely awkward. I confronted her about this and she got defensive and said that nothing was wrong. What is up with this girl?

Jealous obiously. She probably wanted to see how your girlfriend looks like, that's why she invited her. And I'm guessing she's pretty right? That's all it takes to make a girl jealous. Even if she doesn't want you, she doesn't want anyone else to have you, especailly if it looks like you have traded up.

Sounds like she's jealous you've got a new girlfriend and wants you back, either that or she's kinda jealous and wants to know who you prefer-her or the new girlfriend. She's shocked you moved on and wants you back from the look of things. Its definitely pointing in that direction.

some people don't want something till someone else has it. Then some also hate to share someone they're close to with someone else. as long as you're single she's cool. yeah sounds like jealousy...but I think she just wants you for herself, even if it is only as friends.
