It's a casual thing to say. I said that to my barista the other day.

It means seeing you then reminded her that she hasn't seen you for a while.

This question is so interesting though because I said this to a guy who I had previously gotten really close to, but then accidentally hurt. We'd had a huge misunderstanding, and he didn't speak to me for months.
Then we started hanging out again, but I knew we were on fragile ground, so I kept things really light, but I said exactly that to him one day after I hadn't seen him for a few weeks, and he freaked out. He blushed, laughed awkwardly and left quickly, then avoided me for weeks. It was a casual thing to say, I wasn't hitting on him. I knew I'd blown that chance. I was just being friendly.
When a girl says that to you, what do you hear?
Because to us, it is so casual.
