What does it mean when a girl's face "lights up"?

You know what I mean, you can see her whole face smile even before she has a smile on her face and after that a big smile follows. Specially if they haven't seen you in a couple of days or they don't expect you.

I should probably rephrase it. Usually she tends to be very stubborn and acts annoyed and kinda mean(playful) when I talk to her, but if she doesn't know I'm around and I go up to her, she lights up, otherwise she acts annoyed (only to me, mind you)

Hmmmm, I'm in a situation like this I think, me being the girl and I think my friend thinks I like him. I really like him as a great friend, he's fun to be around and I just love his cooky ideas to I can't help but to light up. Also I'm a friendly person by nature. I just cannot see myself with him for some reason...I know we don't have a lot in common and I'm sure he's not what I'm looking for.

I once did the playfull, mean, annoyed bit because I got nervous.

Now I do the "lighting up" for everyone, just as a social jesture. It's definitly more acceptable.

But if it's genuine, and it lights up..it means she's comfortable and really feels for you.

That mean she likes you. when a girl acts happy to see you, she likes you. If she's being mean playfully, she likes you. And her acting as if she's annoyed could be another sign. And Usually when a girl acts annoyed, she really isn't. it's like her way of convincing herself she doesn't like you when she know she does. I know because I'm a girl :)

Well, I remember one time I went on vacation for a week but it got cut short. All my friends knew I was gone for a week but I went to our usual hangout a couple of days earlier and I went up to her and said "hello (her name)" and she saw me and got the "light up" face and the big smile and then looked down (with the smile still) and just said "hello" lol, it was cute to say the least.

Well, because she is extremely shy and when I did ask for her number, she said she didn't "text much" or some lame excuse. Yet she keeps smiling like that, so I just wondered what it meant, since she doesn't look to have interest in me.

maybe at the time you asked her for her number she didn't notice you. Maybe now that she thought about it she is interested.. That happened to me.. this guy totally showed no interest until this one time he did and after that I was interested.. Do you go to school with her or where do you usually see her?

At school. We get along. we tease each other and argue a lot (playfully). We talk and make fun of each other and even some people have mentioned to me that we should be dating, because its pretty obvious there's some attraction from both of us. I haven't asked again for her number, I've gotten other girls numbers since then but its not even funny what a big difference exist between her and others, I just love her personality, sense of humor and the way she never, ever lets me win an argument :P
