Shy guy went "deer in headlights"...what do I do now?

I'll keep this short.

I told my crush that I have a huge crush on him --> dude froze up and kept on saying thank you --> still talks/interacts with me but so far epic failed in clarifying himself.

Here, "he's not that into me" can be taken out because everything points to that he has liked me for a really long time (like 5 years).

So I basically told him that I need some answers other than the kinda lame ones he gave. Really...do shy clueless guys actually turn around once in a while? yeah he falls under that "shy and clueless" category.

Is there anyone who's been in the similar situation? What happened?

This has happened to me so many times. The first time, a girl sent over one of my buddies to explain the situation, because I was too dumb to see that she was into me.

The deal was, if I wanted to date her, I would be at a certain place at a certain time. She'd be there and if I was there, there would be this incredible hookup.

Well, I made sure I was there. And she arrived. And there was this incredible banging noise in my mind, followed soon after by gasping signs when I was in her bed.

Oh yeah, I had been a virgin. But after that, well, I guess I just focus work things when I work, other times I missed signals, too. (That first time had been at college. And the guy the girl sent to talk to me was one of her old boy-friends.)

I guess I can say this too, I think people should be honest -- if they are not honest while dating, they will have real problems later, it's called being married.

She should have just walked up to me and quietly offered me herself, because even after we stopped dating she told me that she would be available to me anytime -- girls, you have no idea how awesome and hot she made herself in my eyes. I lived on the other side of Florida, but once, about two years later, after we had broken up, I called her and told her I was coming to see her. And she tossed out her friends and invited me in when I arrived (I found out about the friends later.)

I gotta say I'm slightly relieved to hear that guys act like this. FYI this dude falls under ridiculously shy and clueless category to the point where he can't understand regular girl talk. So I have to be blunt and straightforward...which is OK because I kinda am like that. Anyway, so do guys turn around eventually after spelling out what's going on? because I kinda did that to this guy and I even told him to get off his butt and reply...
