Why would I ever not have a weapon? And why are those my only to options when neither of them are lethal?

But hypothetically if I was strangely unarmed and had to go up against a guy… say twice my size I’d take out his knee first. Going for his forward knee from the side with my rear leg will tear the ACL severely limiting his ability to keep his balance. From there it’s easy enough to get him to the ground and drop all my weight with my knee right into his trachea.
