If a girl is "nice" to you all of a sudden?

This girl is kinda freaking me out lol. So I asked her out, she declined. I've known her for a couple of months. I thought she liked me because she would treat me differently than other guys. While with other people she was talkative, nice and really sweet, with me she was a bit quiet and nervous, sarcastic and would tease me and argue playfully with me and every time I tried to make her laugh, she would tell me how unfunny I was. After I asked her out, she turned into a different girl. Now she is very talkative and she starts conversations and even told me that (gasp) I was funny. We still tease each other and argue a lot, but why is she being all nice? I have no interest in being "just friends", I have tried to stop talking to her, but she gets upset or even mad at me when I try it, she is so sweet now that I don't have the heart to tell her that if its only friendship that she wants, I can't give it to her. Any advice on how to deal with this? Should I just go on and tell her? You think she might've changed her mind? or what?

Sometimes a person will become nicer to someone who they feel like they have the upper hand over. Its not the best thing for the person but it happens. Especially in situations like this, they get an ego/confidence boost to know that someone likes them. I don't think that she's changed her mind, I think she just feels flattered and got an ego boost from denying you. You don't owe her anything especially not friendship. But you want to be the bigger person and not cause trouble between you two. I suggest you ignore her. Don't talk to her, if she comes up to you then that's fine but keep responses short and then walk away. Avoid her, ignore her, act like she isn't there, etc. She'll get the clue to stop talking to you.

I know, that's exactly what I want to avoid, I don't want her to be nice because she feels "sorry" or whatever. I've been trying to ignore her but she gets upset or mad or tells me how it "isn't fair" (whatever that means). Just as I don't like people feeling sorry for me, I won't feel sorry for her and I'll just do what I have to do, thanks!

Wait, if she wasn't very nice to you, why did you ask her out? lol I'm confused. Tell her she's very awesome but you can't stand to be just freinds. She'll get her sh*t together.

Lol, well, you know how some people say if a girl is shy and she likes a guy she will act the opposite and make him think she doesn't like him (or something like that) I guess she was being "nice" because even though we argued and teased each other, we always had a laugh.Now she is "nice nice",I'm just not used to her being so talkative and relaxed with me, or even getting compliments from her, that's why I said she was freaking me out because now I could tell her to take a hike, but I'd feel bad

Can relate this girl I know was mean to me but then all of a sudden she acts nice to me. Always stalking me like saying "Hi" and has a huge smile on her face whenever she sees me. She has even gotten sad when I am not around her since we go to same church. Not sure what to make outta if myself either.

Why not just be forward with her and ask her to be your girlfriend? Seems the best you could loss is this girl telling you why she has suddenly changed her attitude all of a sudden from quiet to out going.
