Guys do you get threatened when a girl treats you nice?

So I'm in the process of talking to who might actually be my soulmate, I'm always nice to him were long distance not dating yet but we already act like we are, anyways I say the nice things but he said that being treated bad for so long than finally being treated right feels threatened even if it's not. How do I make him feel safe if my nice is off-putting?

I can partially understand your point of view, mainly if the men have been misused in previous relationships by their girlfriends.

In today's screwed up society, many people are out to misuse and take advantage of others, be it in relationships, at work, by governments and politicians. Finding someone that is actually nice may be seen as "what does she want from me"?

So, somewhere I can understand that some people, not just men, could feel threatened because they automatically think that the person that is nice to them ultimately wants something from them and that they will have a rude awakening.

Perhaps "threatened" isn't the word, but "apprehensive" for sure, especially those who claim not to get a lot of female attention. Online LDR don't tend to work... and with guys who don't trust easily communication will end up being one-sided with you oversharing while the guy sits back and lets you, giving you basically only the bare minimum (sometimes barely enough to encourage you to keep going).
