Girls, when a guy is nice to you and even helpful to you?

do you automatically think he's interested in you?

I think because I was insecure for the longest time of my life, it impacted me so much that today any guy that's nice to me or helpful, I automatically assume he's interested in me.

i feel so shallow and horrible for this and I wanna get past it but don't know how.

yes I do. Well I think most of them are. But some can just help for the sake of helping, well if you ask for help, usually people would.

But I find the opposite thing is even worse, when he's not interested, but seems so kind and helpful. I had a guy friend like that (apparently he's still my friend) but being 'nice' in the way like caring about if you can get home safe at night, holding me, hugging me, cuddling me, and then telling me he likes me and we slept together once, and later saying he was drunk and that I'm just a friend to him. See is it better that they are not interested in me? or you meant interested in sex. Anyway I think guys shouldn't be TOO nice or overstretching cos the girl WILL assume it means something, or that she is special to him.

Only if the being 'nice' is going way out of their way that it makes me go 'wtf?'. I find that's a good rule of thumb to go by.

For example,

A few years ago while on lunch (at a place where I was doing work experience), I was about to sit down on a wet plastic chair (it was outside) and this guy, who I'd only met a few hours before and had barely talked too, stopped me from grabbing a saturated chair and thrust a dry one at me.

It was so bizarre and unusual, he didn't offer me the chair with words and he seemed kind of muddled up and embarrassed.

Nope. I am apparently on the opposite end of the spectrum and can't notice if a guy is into me unless he tells me straight out.
