Reasons for copying someone?

A female friend of mine used to copy me (in my hobbies and career path) when we initially first met (this goes back a few years ago). I have noticed recently that after I posted a certain subject on social media, she posted something similar.. what are the emotional reasons for someone to imitate me in this fashion? I have a strange feeling about it.

Either to get your attention, admires you or maybe she feels she's a boring person and wants to seem more interesting and thinks you're an interesting person to copy?

Perhaps.. although she never really talks to me online or engages in my social media activity... I coincidentally posted a photo of myself and a female friend (purely platonic) when she had did the same with a male friend of hers and then the following day she had imitated me..

That's really odd. I actually have no idea why she'd copy you like that. It's really strange. I hope someone can give you a better answer than me because I'd really like to know why myself!

Maybe she look at you like an exemplar person, sounds like she has a lack of personality and try to copy styles, thoughts and stuffs. On the other hand, maybe she feel attracted to you and doesn't know how catch your attention on a straight way.

I think you are right! Although we haven't talked in a very long time and she doesn't even really engage in my social media. That's what I found bizarre.
