My first daughter has that name. I’ve always liked it because it’s a classic (biblical, in fact) that will never go out of style. It has native forms in tons of languages. It is also a real feminine name, not a feminized version of a masculine name (Andrea, Stephanie, e. g.) Finally, it has tons of nickname possibilities. Libby, Liz, Lizzy, Liza, Lisa, Beth, Betty, Betsy, Eliza, Elle, Liesl… the list goes on and on. My parents told me I would have been an Elizabeth if I had been a girl.
I've known many lizzys in my life and it's a great name id say
It’s a common name but I like it, it sounds pretty. I like names that have potential for a lot of nicknames.
I do. It's pretty, sounds kinda fancy/formal but can also be really casual with just using Liz.
