On the one hand, it's short, sweet, hard to pronounce wrong, and the whole goddess name thing is trending right now, what with the occasional Persephone I keep seeing pop up from time to time. However, the name does have some negative associations, because the goddess Hera is often depicted as the original jealous, bitter wife, taking out her fury over her husband's infidelity by tormenting his lovers and illegitimate children. On the other hand, so do many, many other names associated with mythology- even the popular ones, like Persephone. (There's a literal famous sculpture devoted to her sexual assault, for example.)

The name itself sounds very cool, and epic. The Greek goddess of motherhood and family... Sadly she was created on by her husband Zeus far too many times. Calling your daughter "Hera", while very cool, would be like calling a ship "Titanic".

I might name my daughter that i love that name
