How can you tell if a socially awkward girl likes you?

At the time I'm posting this, there are two responses from women.

Woman 1: "the best way to tell is if you straight up ask them"
Woman 2: "The dumbest thing you can do is ask her"

Aaaand this is why guys often say never take dating advice from women. They just contradict themselves all the bloody time so you can never get a straight answer from them.

Don't listen to the women here. Don't point blank ask "do you like me". They'll probably put their guard up.

Shy girls will probably have trouble with eye contact and it may be difficult to build rapport and comfort. They'll often look away fast and smile to themselves if you catch them looking. They'll probably flirt but have difficulty with conversation.

Be around her. When you’re around does she seem to enjoy herself? Ask her somewhere. Does she say yes or no? Does she look at you a lot? How does she act? Body language is key

Just talk to her, but don't sneak up behind her. Just like when she stops to look at something, stop too and ask her a question about what she's looking at. If she responds and seems happy she probably likes you.
