It's it true that girls are generally attracted to men in Military uniform?

Question

Various Uber and Lyft drivers, while driving me in uniform, have said that it must be easier to pick up girls when you're in uniform. Some Soldiers in my Company have said that girls tend to stare at them more when they're on uniform.

Biologically females find males attractive for two reasons. They are fit, healthy with good genes. And they are capable and willing to invest time and resources in raising offspring.
Since the military doesn't employ genetic defects you know your kids won't inherit shitty genes and will generally be healthy. You can also argue that while shops will sell guns to any idiot, the military isn't too keen on letting the mentally unstable have them. So you know he's fairly sound in body and mind.
A military career is not only fairly stable job but it's fair to say it it's an altruistic one, logically someone willing to serve or die for their country is likely to bring the same mindset to investing in their offspring.

The one thing you must never do is let them anywhere near laundry because they're obsessed with ironing and will put creases in everything from bras to dresses.

Not necessarily the uniform itself, but it tells me a few things about the person. He's voluntarily serving something larger than himself, and he's held to higher standards of physical fitness and personal conduct than the rest of the general population.

I definitely found it to be the case.

in Civvies, you are just another guy.

in uniform it changes, you have girls giving their numbers, you get flirted at etc.

It also totally pisses off every guy in the area, as most of the available girls in the area focus on the guys.

the same holds true for other uniformed services (upto a point lol).

obviously it’s not all girls, some can’t stand military etc.

it is however a marked switch between wearing civvies and uniform, with full dress with medals tending to score best, followed by combats, then day uniform.

It is true generally for women, yes.
I've seen a pretty informal, small-scale study, and women are more impressed with men in uniform, than men are impressed by women in uniform.

But for me personally, it's a no. I like individuality more than conformity, and a uniform is about following rules and enforcing rules. And that just doesn't appeal to me.
Though people who rescue other people when their life is at risk - that's great.

Military uniform shows someone who is prepared to serve their country - work for more than just themselves.

Yes the job can suck, but turning out in dress uniform with medals, or mess dress at a black-tie gig, will get admiration.

All you have to do is be able to live up to it!

Ex British Army & voted no. It does depend on the uniform worn too , I doubt I would of impressed any woman in dirty , sweaty combat kit , after a 20 miler at Para pace , with full kit. The Guards Regiments & the Household Cavalry , have the best dress uniforms. Some of my Guardsman mates did have girls put their number on a small piece of paper and slyly tuck it behind their dress belt , when on ceremonial duty / Palace guarding in London. They have to stand still whilst on duty.

It's less about the uniform and more about what it implies: that you are relatively young, usually very physically fit, able to work as a team, generally have confidence, and willing to make sacrifices.

I mean. I don't really care if you got a uniform. Technically people at the supermarket got a uniform to wear too, so its.. bleeh. All I will say is of course a lot of uniforms like police/fire fighter/army are of course more dangerous level jobs, which could make me potentially weary on a sub conscious level.
