Why do people get offended by the word "female" but not "bitch"?

Heard some girl got mad because someone called her a female but she's cool with bitch. Even someone said "lady" was offensive.

"female" is often used by men in a very specific, clinically derogatory way that is difficult to explain. Same with lady, although not as much, and it really depends on context. Being called a female is infuriating and dehumanizing in its own special way that seems completely illogical but isn't. Bitch is just an insult. Depending on context it could even be a compliment. Like I'd be annoyed if someone called me a "female" but I'd be kinda flattered if one of my girl friends jokingly called me a badass bitch or smthn.

I think that
1. Female is kinda a weird word, not going to lie, it derives from woman, which derives from wif, the latin term for a wife, and all things considered, you wouldn't walk up to a guy and be like "males these days" or "What are you males up to?" you'd switch it out for guys, as such, we should become accustomed to doing that for women too. For instance, I personally like to use y'all in reference to a group of people.

2. Being called "bitch" is all relative, it depends on whether it's said in a derogatory manner, who it's coming from, and what the context of the conversation was. so I can understand where female would be less acceptable then "bitch" in certain cases

Because female denotes that separate genetic makeup in women. Which can insinuate that they are 'made differently' and are 'different' on a scientific level.

I know plenty of women who are not offended by that term.
