Why would the girl I like read my message but not reply?

She and I get along really well actually. I actually get nervous when I see her and I get the feeling she gets nervous around me too. But at the same time she is happy to see me.

She could be busy, but like the other person said, she could be playing games. Sometimes my boyfriend will read the message and then respond whenever he isn’t busy. However, I rarely hear of girls doing this. If it is something that genuinely bothers you, then you should bring it up in a nonconfronting way. Maybe say something like “hey I see that you read my message but didn’t respond, are you busy right now?” Allow her sometime to respond if she is busy. But if you know that she isn’t busy and she just reads it, then I’m sorry bud but chances are she’s playing games. You also have to ask yourself if she’s an immature person, or if she is relatively mature.

She's probably not as into you as you think. There could be some attraction between you both but you're not a priority to her, at least right now. Also you have to remember that most girls (even ones that are average or fairly unattractive) get a ton of texts from a bunch of guys almost everyday, and even more guys chat her up irl trying to get her contacts to hang out. She likely enjoys your conversations but it's possible she enjoys your attention and rather than you, as is with other guys. Honestly I wouldn't text her first again. She knows your interested so let her contact you before you go further. If she doesn't text you within a week or after the next time you see each other irl I'd just move on.

When I leave people on read it’s because the conversation isn’t interesting, I feel like I’m carrying to convo more and they aren’t, or because I notice they’re trying to open the door to dating and I’m not interested in that.
