There are always going to be lowlifes around, (men or women), but don't let the way others make you feel determine what you do with your life. Have you looked into an apprenticeships or on-the-job training? A friend of mine did a barber/cosmetology apprenticeship through a technical college. She got a good-paying job, met her husband through a co-worker, and was able to work part-time when she had kids.
