As long as men are allowed be topless, this will be a pointless question in my opinion. I also tolerate topless disgusting sweating guys in summer despite my eyes get destroyed. So why it is difficult to tolerate SOME women who show off a little skin? I have seen naked old fat men on beaches of lakes, men in (very) mini skirts in my city, half naked men etc. and i tolerate it. Why i see no woman who complain about this? If your only problem is this, then you have a luxus problem. I wish i had your problem instead of having problems with sexual harrassment, cat calling etc.
By the way i dont think it is is necassarily wrong to see the opposite gender as "objects" as long as you make it in a harmless way.( It does not matter how much skin you show. If you are an attractive person you will be seen as an object anyway.) You are automatically sexualizing the person aka this person becomes an object if you have sex with him/her or if this person attracts you. This is why it is ok for me to sexualize a person to an extent. I would not mind to get sexualized by my potential husband for example lol.

By the way these questions make me remember of my vocation in turkey. I remember women in burkhas with their husbands in shorts lol. A pic of a popular turkish muslim scholar with his wife on the beach in turkey.

No one is forcing them to work there. By definition, this restaurant is based around women showing off their bodies. Start knew when they took the job that it involved wearing skimpy clothing and being ogled by the customers.

It’s not like they’re being oppressed. They are working there by choice. Instead of all the restaurants that DON’T involve them being half-dressed, they picked this one. I don’t see a reason to feel sorry for them. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing bad about working at Hooters. I don’t look down on them. But they are not victims.

For the most part yes , most girls want you to pay them to have sex with them off of dating apps and want you to join their Only fans accounts or premiums etc. it’s like all of a sudden most girls have become prostitutes all of a sudden doing what they can to lure guys in for money, they don’t value themselves and don’t really have any morals they put themselves on the market like they are a piece of meat , sadly their are a lot of guys that are desperate and fall for that shit , me personally doesn’t want a girl that allows pretty much any man that pays her to fuck her , it’s degrading and disgusting to me but most girls look at sex like it’s just sex and will say it doesn’t mean anything, why I feel this world is going to hell in a hand basket , people are so fucked up these days , it’s sad to see in my eyes, yes prostitution has been going on for years but it seems today it is more acceptable and most girls are jumping on that band wagon so if they want to be treated like a piece of meat then that’s how they will be treated bottom line, I will never pay a girl for sex , I would feel like she was just doing it as a job which in a sense she is , so I probably wouldn’t even get hard and feel no connection toward her , if I just wanted to get off I would just use my hand , it’s free and disease free

People ARE objects- that's part and parcel with being a noun. If you're asking whether women are being seen as sexual objects, well, no more than usual- been seen as a person you have a sexual interest in doesn't mean not being seen as a person.

In this particular case, I find it hard to believe that anyone is surprised about a restaurant famous for putting it waitresses in skimpy outfits is now allowing them to wear skimpier outfits. If a competing restaurant, with a giant rooster as its logo and called "Cocks" opened up, would it surprise you that it's all-male waitstaff wore tight shorts and muscle shirts?

You don't need to have a degree in social networking to see that! Advertising has ALWAYS used women in sexual ways to promote their products. Bars ALWAYS have a "women's night" where their drinks are either half price or free. TV and movies have used women in ways, too numerous to count, to promote their products. One look at ANY female super hero compared to their male counterparts exemplifies my point. This carries on in most other movies and TV shows. I fully understand WHY women get so aggravated over the portrayal of females. I disagree with some of the fanatical feminists ideas, but yeah... women are still used as objects - even if they end up kicking a guy's rear in a fight.

Really the entire issue is a good example of how people can be a victim of their own stupidity. Because the women working at Hooters or a Strip Club are not the ones having to hustle to get money for rent. Because they spent a chunk of it at hooters or a club trying to buy attention from a woman working there.

So I say Hooters needs to run with with the skimpy shirts. Get as many guys to spend as much of their rent money as they can. All the women doing it should be laughing and giving the guys shit about it when ever they can.

Objectification implies that organisms were not already living objects.
Which is incorrect, something physical is either a living object, a moving robot, or an inanimate object. So there is no person who's not an object.

Lets admit the real problem here.

A few women who don't look as attractive as they want to be, are upset that sexual aesthetics cause arousal, and that other women are getting male attention, when they aren't.

These women want to turn it into a problem that doesn't exist, by saying visual sexual selection, something done since eyes existed, is bad, and that it's somehow a character flaw to only date who you find attractive (which is nonsense).

As for the hooters uniforms, yes the point of the restaurant is to wear revealing clothing and be eye candy for the customers. Women know what they’re signing up for when they accept the job. But when they started, they were required to wear booty shorts and then they changed it to shorts that are pretty much a thong.

I think it’s understandable that workers would be upset, they agreed to wear shorts, not a pair of underwear. I think they should be able to choose what pair they want to wear.

Teen girls are literally fighting for the right to be practically naked in classrooms... a place where they should be more worried about getting an education. Instead, they're worried about the clothes they want to wear.

it has always been like that. in our mind there's always that dualism between the aspect of a social persona that is interacting with you and the object that person is when it comes to the satisfaction to one or more of your needs or desires. and obviously "sex sells" banks on the latter fact. cause people will actually spend money (or other ressources) to satisfy their needs that relate to that function as an object. this fact is probably as old as humanity and wasn't invented by hooters.
