Why do girls take so long to reply?

Why do girls take so long to reply (15+ mins), especially when you were just talking to them, also why do girls leave you on delivered, is it that hard to just click the message and let it be seen?

Why are people so impatient and narcissistic?
Does the person HAVE to reply right away to keep your "interest"?
Then why even bother talking to people?

Personally, you have to build relationships with others and it starts by putting away those biases, selfishness, and personal expectations aside in order for you to develop a friendship. Remember HOW you communicate is just as important as WHAT you're communicating if not the message it perceives to other people.

Firstly, there is a LOT of variables and reasons as to why a person may take that long to reply. If you're not getting a reply with the first 10 mins or less, that usually means. :

• The person stopped talking to you for that time period. As in the conversation is over. If any of your texts look like this... (be mindful that I am making it more formal for the sake of understanding the conversation written even if you are not formal like how I tend to like being with others. also be mindful of personality types as it is a personality and beliefs thing, not a gender thing. And it's mostly on assumption. I will use how my texts with family and friends tend to look like they ended up being unanswered for a duration of time.)

• Me: Hi, I have a question. Do you know where you can find a store that sells a ____________?
• Fam/Fri: Oh! I think I saw something like that on/in _____________.
• Me: Really? Thank you!

SO... given this example roleplay what can you find wrong with this conversation. If you say nothing. Then you're correct. However, if you're looking to continue a conversation, then you are wrong. What is WRONG with this conversation is that there is nothing that indicates after I said thank you that indicates that I wanted to continue talking. Also, the first and ending is key here. If there is a beginning, middle and end, then you must learn how to TALK to that person. Since you never gave us example of what your texting or what you wanted to ask or do, we can't tell you what is wrong or right here. I can only assume you don't know how to talk to tell a person what you want. You expect directness from others according to your expectations, but your not direct back, so it leaves you unaware of what the problem is. Otherwise, it is possible you said something to offend the person and or they didn't feel like talking anymore for the day or timeframe. You can always check back and text them.

Remember, if this person is just a stranger, they owe you nothing. You owe it to yourself to ask yourself what are you doing? You are expecting too much from a random stranger who isn't your friend, your partner, sibling, etc. And that is a problem you need to fix. If you two are strangers, they have to right to speak or not to speak like you do. You decide how you want to go about this or rethink why you are speaking to random strangers and handing out your personal contacts who aren't deserving of it. That's why I don't just hand out my info to everybody, not every person is deserving of it. I like to make friends. But depending on why you're contacting her, she is probably avoiding you if you're trying to get sexual with her.

If it's just a friendly chat and want to at least try to be friends, try to figure out what went wrong. Either relook at what you texted, have others see it that you trust who can give you their personal opinions on what you did, and how they would react, OR directly contact her and see what is going on. If she id avoiding your texts on purpose you would know automatically. If she is just busy, she could be just busy. Sometimes, especially for people like me, I am really BUSY. And I may not get back to a person until hours or days later. But I at least try to make it up to that person and apologize. If you are not a patient person, it's best to skip it altogether and not waste your time, whatever that time you wasting is since you never say about who these girls are to you and why you're getting upset about what they're doing.

I don't think that this is a gender specific issue.

I take up to 3 days to reply to one of the very rare messages I get. I do this because I am not a slave of my cell phone and that I want to get the message across to whomever sent me a message that I am not in the mood to reply.

If the person does not get the... message, then it is tough luck for them.

What I mean to say is that it is not a mandatory thing to reply instantaneously. Give the person time to breathe and don't expect an immediate reply. People should also have a life away from their smartphone.

Why is it so bad for you that someone takes his/her time to reply? Are you going somewhere where there is no network coverage?

Patience is a virtue that people seem to have forgotten.

I see what you mean, but that's not my issue, so me and this girl were talking, and I sent the last message on ig, the only thing that bothers me is that she never opened it, she left it on sent, and I have ocd and adhd, so these little things bother me

I am sorry to hear that you have health related issues.

I am not familiar with all those social media and have no clue how you can know whether she read your message or not. This is not important though.

You have to learn to give people time to breathe and think of a reply. It is not the end of the world if someone takes a little longer to answer.
