Why do people fold their underwear?

I take the out of the dryer and empty them into a large drawer. I don't get why some people fold them. Isn't it it unnecessary?

Don't underestimate this question..It gives insight on certain human behavior, that's why I am asking it.

I fold mine to be more organized. It looks better in my drawer and it's easier to pick the one I want to wear. I usually fold types of underwear into one pile - the underwear I like the most go in the front of the pile, and the underwear I don't really like go in the back. Does that make me anal? haha.

lol, no it makes sense. I would fold them too if I didn't think its a waste of time.

I never thought about it, but when I do laundry I never fold my underwear but I fold my boyfriend's. I think it's because the drawer is small and they fit easier when they're folded. Damn, now I'm going to be thinking about it every time I do the laundry now! :P
