Why is a group of girls at school constantly bullying me and gossiping about me right in front of me?

There’s a group of girls in my Social Studies cows that sit across from where my boyfriend and I usually sit. They are constantly talking extremely rudely about me when I’m sitting right there and can obviously hear them. I had my grade 12 graduation photos today, and I was telling my boyfriend about how it took me some time to figure out when my time slot was, and the group of girls just looked at each other and went “she’s literally stupid” i wanted to cry. I’m not a very sensitive person but when I see that people are talking shit about me when I never did anything to them, it’s pretty hard to just ignore. My boyfriend saw that I was getting upset, so he looked at me and said “come on let’s go sit across the room with my friends” so we went to go sit with his friends and I finally felt like I had people who weren’t going to talk rudely about me, because his friends are kind people. However, the issue is, is that they’re not only gossiping about me. They are bullying me. Why? Because it is consistently EVERY DAY in that class. Every day they say SOMETHING about me and it just upsets me. Is it that hard to keep your mouth shut? I don’t think it is. It’s really just been getting me down lately, and it especially hurts when you’re legitimately being called stupid by people that are talking about you.
