People don't abuse to help others get better. And it probably doesn't have much to do with what/how you are overall, even if you can to know the reason (it's probably to raise themselves in the social hierarchy) would you do anything about it? I'd say rise above it. If you don't get frustrated/flustered they are the ones that look irrational.
There are gonna be people that don't like you. As long as they don't group up they won't cause trouble, and it's College so don't pay them mind too much.

They might be jealous. Possibly of your looks. Or it could be some other reason. If you don’t really know them or talk to them, then it’s probably a stupid reason and immature cattiness. I wouldn’t be too worried about it. They probably suck, anyway.
They could be Jealous or Intimidated by you especially IF you are a beauty they may think you will steal all the fair game guys or even their boyfriends from them.
