What does peacocking mean?

One of my friends had said this girl that I like has been doing a lot of peacocking in front of me.

She says girls do that when they like a guy and it’s them trying to present themselves, look pretty/sexy in front of tue guy they want/desire. Is that true at all? I had never heard of that before.

Strutting your stuff, putting your best self forward. Could also mean wearing a bunch of vibrant colors or being very metrosexual for guys, like a peacock.

Think of a male peacock with their tail feathers splayed out; It's to grab the attention of a potential mate.

Random fun fact: when a peacock has its feathers out like that, it's liable to get clapped by a nearby predator because they can't fly like that. They have to pull their feathers back in before they can get off the ground.
