Should I stop talking to him or did I overreact?

Is he hurt or he just doesn’t care and is rude?

I have so far only chatted with him on instagram. Before we had long conversations and he seemed to like to chat with me.
Sometimes it takes him a while to reply to my text like 22 hours and sometimes he replies a lot more quickly. It started to annoy me. Also it started to annoy me to just chat on instagram and not exchange numbers or meet. So I decided to text him this during our conversation just to see his reaction:

After his slow response ( tbh my message was more like a statement and it didn’t require an aswer but I was mad it took him almost a day to open my message)

I sent him this ” I don't know if you agree, but this chat thread is starting to become too long”

Then he replied”. Hmm I hadn’t paid attention to it, but yeah it’s starting to look too long”

I just left him on read.

some guy said that could actually be a hint that he wants to meet or something since he agreed with me.

My take on that is he is just agreeing to whatever you say, but not because he wants to, he is doing it out of sufferance.
I honestly don't think he cares one way or the other if you left. Be careful about falling for him. You could get hurt.
To answer your initial question, maybe you did over react but if you're falling for him, then I suggest stop talking before it goes any further.

Would you say you get annoyed quite easily? The reason I ask is because your initial question came across as rather abrupt. Now if I were him? I could either agree with you and not progress things further or I could confront you. Me personally. I would rather confront than go for an easy life.
The sufferance bit? I get the feeling he probably thinks you are too highly strung and doesn't fancy talking to you again.

maybe you acted quickly... I think maybe its becoming a little boring or a little routine for him... or maybe he doesn't know how to proceed or continue the conversation on chat so he won't bore you.

do you guys meet or see each other somewhere? or it was only through the chat?

let me ask you... the same question... what do you think about the same situation " but instead of you... its me " the girl was very chatty and its less charty now for a week or so, am i suppose to write to her or give her some space?

i think he wasn't sure what to do or say... so he just agreed with what you said.

you didn't ruin all your chances but you might need to take the first step this time... do you guys live in the same city? if you think its safe have a coffee with him in a public cafe and see how does it go... if he is still after 2 or 3 meetings acting weird talk to him directly not with hints.
