Well I'm guessing part of their job involves 'working the room' to get punters warmed up to the idea of requesting dances later on. The fact you sat on your phone suggested you're a 'cool prospect', so she couldn't go right for the pitch. So she needed to make you a 'warm prospect' by initiating some conversation and light physical touch, so that in theory you would be more receptive to spending money at some later time.

It's also possible she's just being friendly to be friendly, but never forget, as long as she's on the site premises, she's 'on the job'. I'm sure stripping in and of itself is only one part of the job; it's ultimately about building relationship and rapport with the punters so they'll continue to go back and ultimately drop more money on a particular stripper, and in the establishment in general.

IF, she was genuinely interested in YOU, she would be sitting beside you the whole time holding your hand. Engaged in conversation and really trying to get to know YOU. And mostly, she will not sacrifice her self morals.
