Guys, do you think women ever REALLY get lonely?

I don't believe women in modern society can ever genuinely be lonely. They just don't want the men they have available to them because they're not high-quality enough. I've legitimately never met an actual lonely woman before in my life.

So from what I'm hearing, "female loneliness" is more about some kind of "deep meaningful soulful emotional connection" or the like, where male loneliness is legitimately just companionship or having someone care about you in your life, i. e, more literal. The two are very different.

There are enough lonely women here on GAG alone to answer yes to that question.

They're not looking for superficial "quality" as in outstanding looks and money. They're looking for a guy who has more in mind than just getting in their pants. Naturally, they want a guy with ambition. But it's not wealth that they're after. They want an actual romantic connection with a sincere guy. Lots of those women are in the cute/pretty to beautiful range and can't figure out why guys don't approach them. Some of those girls are in their mid to late twenties and are virgins or have only been in one or two relationships.

Some girls are timid and circumspect. They want to be loved and cherished, but are afraid to take chances, especially when it comes to sex.

Aside from her personality, heart, devotion, and yes, hard work and effort, a girl has another important thing to offer - - her body. She has no option. Sooner or later, she has to take a chance, offer body, open up and give herself completely. She can feel not only heartbroken and betrayed but dirty and ashamed, like a human Kleenex, when she discovers that a man was just using her for his own gratification.

What guys seem to fear the most is being taken advantage of financially. But that's hardly the same chance that a women takes. And a man has a choice. He can guard his finances, but a woman can't withhold her most intimate possession. And money is just money.

Anyone, including some who are married or in relationships, can be lonely. Even a person who is desired and can find romantic partners can be lonely. I think hook up culture is an attempt to quell a loneliness that can't be satisfied. Shopping, alcohol or drug abuse, social status, or any number of other things can be attempts to fill an inner loneliness.

In the end, guys and girls aren't much different. People are complex. It's impossible to stereotype people based on gender. There are a wide range of attitudes, values, hopes, dreams, goals, needs, desires, ambitions, appetites, inhibitions, and insecurities.

@malwins. Yes, but also her body in general. A woman makes herself completely vulnerable to inspection, assessment, and use as an object. I'm not saying that's necessarily bad at at all. I love women who are sexual, uninhibited, and comfortable in their own skin. But for some women, it can feel debasing with the wrong guy. Some women like it, though. And that's cool.

I definitely think there are some gold digger women out there. But all a guy has to do is date a non-superficial woman (even guys can tell the difference) and not break the bank to satisfy her financial taste. Then if he chooses Marriage he can get a prenup.
If a man follows all these rules he will have a higher chance of not getting used financially. However, the only guys I see are 1. Men who don’t want to spend a penny on their girl or 2. Men who give everything and more to a woman who doesn’t love them.

Follow these simple guidelines and every man can relax when it comes to; “does she only want me for my money.”
When I don’t see these being practised I’m just dumbfounded. Sometimes I think men and women like to turn a blind eye, so to speak. The fact you even imply a man MUST spend his money on a woman (but that a woman doesn't need to do so himself), is why many modern men don't listen to women for dating or relationship advice. In society, it is much easier for a woman to make close friends or for somebody to care. In most cases, women choose to become lonely overtime.

Nobody really gives a f about guys. Guys who are struggling have very little support system and of course the everlasting negative stigma of reaching out. Main reason why guys commit a lot more suicides as well.

I agree with you the most on here. I didn't know a woman's idea of "loneliness" is "someone to not love you with all of their heart and do anything for you, no matter what." Women are spoiled in how good they have it, cause I NEVER would expect so much from someone just to not be considered "lonely."

What I meant, in the male sense, was literal loneliness: No one at all to care about you or have a conversation with. Loneliness, platonically, romantically, or sexually.

But yeah, to women, "being lonely" is someone who doesn't worship her, basically. It makes a lot of sense considering how much more attention women get in society, but I never thought about it, or knew about it, until this post.

My question was still about "male" (literal) loneliness, but if women being surrounded by loved ones and countless friends and loyal pets, but not having some perfect dream husband, counts as "loneliness" to them too, then I guess their feelings are their feelings.

Yes.. I can be lonely in a room full of people. I've grown up with two older stisters and they are my best friends and I have my boyfriend whose my best friend too but sometimes I wish I had a friend who liked the same things as me and we do lots of fun, girly stuff together.

Especially since I've moved out I feel so lonely at times. I've managed to make good friends at work but there work friends. I want someone I can go out for a drink with and we can just talk about are lifes with each other.

The only thing is I have trust issues and I feel like the friendship always get ruined when it becomes a group of people especially with girls because that's when bitching and stuff starts

We women do get lonely, sometimes I get lonely cause I don't have a significant other, sometimes I get lonely when I've been by myself for a while, sometimes I feel even more lonely during my menstrual cycle (that I'll blame on the hormones). Of course they do. My wife was the hottest girl in high school type and is a huge introvert. Gets a lot of attention, and she still struggles with social anxiety at times. She never had a lot of friends. Even when she slept around when she was younger, it never filled that void. Yes, I believe they can get lonely. While it's true that a lot of the younger women can go onto a dating app and be flooded with attention, that won't stop them from feeling lonely because it's not necessarily the kind of attention that they want. It's like saying that a guy could go to a strip club if he's feeling lonely and have women approach him all night. He's still going to feel lonely because he knows why they're approaching him and it's not the attention he really wants. I imagine women are the same. Not that that gives them an excuse to call those they don't find attractive "creeps" unless they're genuinely acting like it, but you can't tell me every man will settle for just any woman they don't find attractive, either.

Also, there is more to it than just sex. Women tend to be more emotional than sexual in general and don't want to sext with a guy who treats them like a piece of ass when they're lonely, they typically want a genuine connection.

As for myself though? No, I don't typically get lonely because I'm a loner myself, am not interested in relationships or sex, and get all of the human interaction I need through family and friends.

When the pandemic started and I was working in the hospital with Covid patients I did feel very lonely then. Well I did in the beginning at least because I couldn’t actually be with any of my friends and had to limit interactions with family. My coworkers became my friends and family the only people that I could see till we could asses the risk. What I was saying is that I think the original poster was asking do women get lonely in the same way men do w/ the difference being if I man is lonely he's by himself because he can't use Social Media or dating apps to instantly find a women. Where if a women ever felt lonely Tecnically all she would have to do is go to social media or a dating app and she can basically order some guy to fill that void temporarily. To me, there is a strong difference between "male loneliness" (what I always understood it to mean) and "female loneliness" (which is basically, someone to love you and make you feel "whole and complete.")

If a guy is lonely, he is LITERALLY lonely. No friends, no partner, no pets, no one even willing to entertain a conversation with him.

If a girl is lonely, (based on what the female replies are implying here), it's because she doesn't have someone's True Love and some deep years-long-built emotional connection or what have you.

I guess I never really thought about that prior to asking the question, because as a man, this kind of "quality human interaction" is something I've never thought about before. As in, it's (mostly) a woman thing.

When I say "lonely" I mean it in the most literal sense. A friend OR a partner. Hell, even a coworker or a neighbor willing to chill with you. A lonely man is ALL ALONE. While women are saying it's all about this inner spiritual emotional connection and stuff. And I'm not discounting that, as I too have been surrounded by lots of people who I don't get along with, which adds to a feeling of isolation (aka "loneliness" as women use it). But I wouldn't consider that to be loneliness, as much as not having someone to romantically love you.

When women describe "being alone" on here, I'm interpreting that as not having a soulmate or a BFF or something. Which to me, is being way more picky than simply having a single friend or even a pet, in your life.

I won't argue this "not really being loneliness," cause it's semantics. But I was referring to ANYONE to just be there for you (not just sex, like many women assumed I meant; women can make new friends online or at the club easier than men can, too).

I wouldn't say she threw a tantrum because she didn't like MCheetas question, she and several others just didn't understand the question. This includes myself. I assumed the literal loneliness he was talking about is how it works for everyone. I never thought about how women might not experience that so I was confused about what the difference was.
