I have recently noticed how young girls from the age of sometimes just five dream about how their wedding will look like and how many kids they want, they will even choose names for them. Why is that?
Why do young girls dream about marriage and having kids?
#1 it's partly natural for people to want to have kids and get married #2 society makes it feel like the right thing to do #3 their parents #4 the things they watch
When you combine a genetic pre disposition with social pressure your almost guaranteed to do it
For example Let's say your teenage boy gets into a really big fight at school and people got hurt really bad What could have caused such a thing Well for starters the teenager is hormonal and he's a boy and boys genetically are rowdier than girls most of the time because of testosterone But not only that but his father is a professional boxer and has been teaching him to join in the family career since he was little
If either of these two things were different it's likely this would have played out differently but you combine a genetic predisposition with the way you grow up and you're more likely to do that thing
Kind of like your genetics determine how likely you are to become an addict but if you have an addict in your family that also increases your odds and plus you're related to them so it's probably in your genes as well so you're going to be super likely to become an addict
Because we're brainwashed to be so. By society and family. How we're handed dolls from a very young age, like baby born to "practice to become mothers", how our toys really are just that, preparing for what society wants us to be in the future. How we have those mini kitchens etc. It's fucking sick when you think of it.
I remember I was the same when I was a kid. Thinking of the names of my kids and all that crap. Played with a babyborn, asking my mom if she think I would become a good mother when I grew up and such.
And it was all brainwashing through society, the expectations of women.
Cause it was first when I was 21, and I had a late-night talk with this guy about a lot of different things in life, and he said something that blew my mind. I don't remember what exactly, but essentially I realized then that it was actually possible to be happy without kids and a husband etc. And it just really blew my mind, and I started questioning everything and whether or not I actually truly wanted the kids and husband thing, or if it was just society brainwashing.
Oh get over yourself! Girls look to their mothers as role models as boys look to their dads. What does mummy do? so young daughters want to do what mummy does, it's natural, it's how we learn by copying others. I'm sure plenty of girls and boys change their mind about their future life as adults. I wanted to be an astronaut, I'm not so keen anymore, but then when I was a kid I listened to programs about astronauts...
Ever since I was a little girl I loved taking care of not only my baby dolls but I loved being around babies, and as I gotten older I wanted to have babies of my own when I became financially secured. As for the marriage part some women probably just want marriage, personally for me it's because I want to make/build a life with my other half. I can't speak for other women. But for babies some women are probably just born with that maternal instinct like me for example
Have you noticed how small boys always dream of playing cowboys and Indians, how to be violent and belligerent, how to want to impose their views and wishes onto others and in particular onto girls?
The reply to your question and my answer is that it is part of our genes, how we are programmed to work since the dawn of mankind.
The female gender is programmed to give life and the male gender to take it or at least to make sure that it is dominating.
Furthermore, upbringing and social pressure does not help the way children are educated. How would you have felt as a young child if you were given a toy vacuum cleaner and a play stove? You got your answer. Children are conditioned by antique societal remnants to be something they don't automatically want to be.
I'm 29 and I've never dreamt about marriage and kids. I guess this happens because society pressures girls and women into having kids. In some cultures a woman who is not married or who doesn't have children is frowned upon or even mistreated. It makes them think that women were made for having kids and living for their husband only. Fortunately that is not true. In most cases a woman can choose to have children and to get married. If she decides to remain single and childfree there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Other than the basic answer “in our nature” there are a lot of surroundings that play a role in thinking that way at a young age. Looking back 9/10 all the barbie and princess movies I watched as a kid always ended with finding their “true love”/marriage and baby dolls with all these accessories like a stroller, bottle, crib, etc. As a child being an adult seems exciting cause you aren’t thinking/aware of the responsibilities. 10 years ago I could picture what my wedding dress looked like and how many kids I wanted, now I don’t want to get married and I’m 50/50 on having kids.
It's in our nature to want to be moms. I remember being 3 years old and wanting to have babies of my own. Never really thought to much about marriage since I had my mom constantly telling me that I didn't need a man to be happy. I'm married now so obviously didn't let her words get to me😂
No, i have never ever seen that. Ask any female toddler or little kid about it and they will screeam at you and will tell you that they will never marry or how they hate boys.
Playing with dolls does not necassarily that they want to marry etc
Cause we've been told this is our purpose in life. However things are changing now and we dream about it everytime less. This is a whole new society and new generations understand women can do much more. Still if they wish to do that I don't see the harm...
depending on the age of the girl, it is kind of put on us that women have kids and get married. It's more of a recent concept that people live together without marriage and being more accepted that some people just don't want kids. I care less about the ring but definitely want kids.
It's because we are taught by our mothers, grandmother's and aunts to want and expect it. How it's all so amazing, the best day of our life followed by a lifetime of bliss.
Because they've been programmed to by media. TV, movies, romance novels, songs, etc. Snap out of it! Its not reality. Actual reality is not like it is up on the screen or on the page.
