Yes, as long as it isn't meant to be demeaning, derogatory or lascivious. I don't think women need to be constantly looking for signs of sexual harassment.

There are times and circumstances when using pet names might be inappropriate. But, on the other hand, some people just talk like that because of the way they were raised.
I picture an older waitress in a diner saying "Hi sweetie, what can I get you?" It's just a greeting.

It depends on who and the situation. In parts of the USA it's common to use the term "Hun".
