How to work with a verbally abusive person?

How to deal with working with a person who makes you feel shit.
It’s a temporary thing. I’m finishing my studies for the next 6 months and this job fits perfectly around it. I feel if I quit I’d really struggle financially to find work I can do that fits around my study. So I’d be shooting myself in foot.
this woman at my work is reallly mean behind closed doors type thing. As in tactfully when no one’s watching insults and puts me down. I went home crying all night at thought of working with her again.
How do I suck it up to get back at her..
any advice. i know people say just don’t let it get to you. But I’m kind of sensitive and this shit does get to me.
i couldn’t deal with this long term but I feel maybe there is a way for 3-6 months.

There are many ways of coping. And I believe many have different value depending on the situation & goal:

But here's what I would do:

• Realize that people's interpretations of us aren't accurate to who we actually are. So imagine that she's talking about a completely different person than you. Because they don't see you like how you do. Especially due to the fact that if you had something like money to give them, they'd change their view of you so dang quickly! It would be as if the other viewpoint held no merit.

• Observe how they're acting & place a clear moral view on it. You need to view their words & actions as being so low of worth that they don't even deserve an emotional reaction. They don't deserve your worry. It would be diffrent if the person was reasonable & pointed out something you could improve on in a civilized way. But that's not the case here. They're speaking & acting like a child. So it would be best if you also viewed what they say/do as if a kid was saying or doing it.

• Be assertive with your boundaries. And at first, use strategies that won't put up their wall. But if the wall is inevitable, then so be it. The boundaries must be stated. Best if you pull them aside & ask questions about why they feel the way they do, clear up your intentions or goals, & express your boundaries.

• If you can't reason, try to ignore it until you can distance yourself.
