It taket me sometimes 20 minutes to decide what ice cream to buy. So how long do you think takes me to decide what clothes and shoes to wear? Its not my fault that girls have more clothes than boys.

Boys have pants and shorts. Girls have pants, shorts, skirt, dress. And God don't even start on what to wear above.

And I also blame society and my mother for Having more attention on girls clothes than boys. I would love to just wear pants and hoodies everyday and just have no worry on what to wear. I can't choose what to wear without the fashion police/my mother looking at what I m wearing. My mother should work in the fashion industri.

Before i have to choose what to wear, I have to think of how to match everything, where i m going, If its cola or warm outside, who i m meeting, If i should wear makeup or not, what hairstyle to do, and a bag to put my stuff in.

by the way i m an African, so you can guess how long it takes me to do my hair. So no wonder i stay inside often because I know i will have to wake up early to get prepared If I have to go out.

I feel like i m in a fashion prison or a never ending fashion circle. But I like it sometimes🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Most likely because society puts such a stigma around beauty , women feel the need to compete or compare to what culture finds attractive. Make up, hair, a flattering outfit to catch attention, etc. And since we are our own worse self critics, we aren't gonna like the 1st, 2nd or 5th outfit we try on. If we were comfortable to just throw on some jeans and a t shirt then
we wouldn't take as long to get ready and then men would probably complain "why can't you look like her? " or "why don't you dress like your hot friend? " etc

Well partly because they are meticulous about the way they look. But believe it or not a lot of women DELIBERATELY take longer to just see how much a guy will tolerate. Believe it or not she's already testing you before she's even met you face to face before a date.

Jokes aside, when I have all the time in the world to get ready for something special I do it just because I can. It's fun to take the extra time to get more technical with makeup or focus on the details of the outfit and accessories etc. It helps to boost the confidence even a little bit because of feeling very prepared.

However I am also aware of how I like to dress up in the end, the outfit I can rely on, my signature makeup style, my classic jewelry pieces... Basically things that are hard to go wrong with so if I am in a rush I don't think too much and just do those things and head out knowing that I look good and polished. I have a purse with enough makeup to do a full face and I can just grab that purse on my way out. So I can get ready in 15 mins if I'm given a time limit. But if you talk about just getting ready for a casual outing, no fancy clothes or anything I just wear some comfy top and jeans, a jacket with big pockets to stuff my phone and wallet and I'm out the door instantly. I recently had my boyfriend call me to meet him downstairs in five minutes because he wanted to go on a spontaneous road trip, and I took less than five minutes to get ready and head out.

To be straight forward, I'm really indecisive and lazy. I struggle to pick out outfits and get lazy with being productive and will literally just sit on the floor of my closet, scrolling through Instagram for a good fifteen minutes before putting some socks on or something. Additionally. I do not apply makeup but have a skincare routine that consists of multiple products and steps. Those steps and all of the products being applied take about ten minutes to do as well. All in all for myself, it's just because I'm indecisive, lazy, and have a skincare routine that consists of many products and steps.

For me. It's being undecided about my outfit. I try on like 4 different outfits. Then having to decide which shoes with the outfit Plus the hair and a little makeup. Takes me longer if I'm nervous about where I'm going. Like an interview or date

I barley wear makeup so I take about 15 minutes to get ready haha I throw on some leggings sweater long sleeve or hoodie unless I have something to go to. I'd I do my makeup it takes me 30 45 minutes tops.

We compare ourselves to every other woman in the room. We also wonder what they will be wearing, which puts added pressure on us to fit in with the theme and look just as well dressed for the event. Not much fun for us either..

Not all women do! I believe that the more "insecure" women, take longer to get ready, because they don't feel like they are naturally beautiful, thus, having to wear makeup and/or squeeze into an outfit, etc... The more "confident" women, typically, don't even worry about much makeup, if any at all! They are comfortable in their own skin and can get away with wearing almost anything.
