Do guys like shy, quiet girls who keep to themselves?

I’m really soft spoken so I have to repeat myself often, which sometimes seems to frustrate people. Anyway, I wonder if it’s a turnoff that I am shy and kind of quiet, since I know a lot of guys like women who are more openly confident and talkative.

it doesn't really matter. for any character trait, there is someone who offers it and someone who's looking for it. its just that some are more pupolar than others.
as to being shy and quiet. i wouldn't say it is problematic, but when you are in a comfortable enviournment, like with family or friends, are you quiet to the point where it dries up the conversation?
ill explain: my best friend got married this week to a really shy and quiet woman (same age as you and i). when we would meet up, she would never add anything to the conversation unless directly addressed, and even then it would be short. but when you had a one on one conversation with her, even though she wouldn't be talkative, she still replied in a manner that didn't shut the conversation down. plus, my friend is the type of guy who would find any topic he can to make conversation so he balanced her out😆.
for example: if some guy said to you "i like how you've done your hair today, did you something different?". do you reply "no, the usual", or do you continue with a few details or pivot to another point like asking why he asked or that you like his hair as well, or that you just copy such and such celebrity.

i myself am quiet shy by nature. so i always question what i say with "is it a talk stopper?" and if so i push my self to add a point that opens up an option to make another comment, ask a question or relate to a story i can tell.

You have to be careful because your shyness and you being quiet can come off as being distant and make the impression that you dont want to be bothered. For me personally, I like shy and quiet girls but I seem to attract more confident and outgoing women more for some reason.

Usually I find that girls will be shy in the beginning and then open up as they feel comfortable and safe. Do you know why you feel shy?

It’s ok to be a thinker and let others lead the conversation, especially in a group setting. But when you speak do you do so with confidence so that others hear you? Also when speaking one on one do you balance out talking and listening?
