Mom's phone broke... not sure when or how but I seem to have an idea when it happened but it wasn't me. Was I stupid for buying her a new one?

I must admit it was stupid of me being the last one to hold it and quite honestly neither of us have any recollection of how it broke... the phone was already fully broken before but it had a new crack on the screen this morning. Anyways, she texts me and says her phone is cracked. She didn't say... you did it but knowing her I was a possibility. I honestly don't remember either. I didn't want to deal with the guilt or her possible negative attitude so o just bought her a new one. Was that stupid of me?

I would buy my parents a phone if they needed it, I have my dad, he was on my plan, because they needed help. but a crack on an already cracked phone? Probably not

Ehhh I would've done the same thing just to keep mouths shut and not deal with unnecessary drama.

Given the circumstances, Id say you did the right thing. So no, it wasn't a stupid thing to do.
