Why the girl who rejected me avoids looking at my face?

We are classmates and when another classmate talk me or say some joke to me, she avoids look at me while I speak, laugh or whatever. After she rejected me, we don't talk much, just say hi and treat her as a friend, I don't pretend anything,

What should I do? I don't wanna make her feel awkward. Since that she rejected me, we just say hi each other. I haven't tried talk her or annoy her. Sometimes when she say something in class, I stare at her normally. We are classmates, I give her space but she continues acting the same way.
