Girls, how do you decide whether to use a pad or a tampon when on your period?

I've always just used pads.
My mom used them, they were easier, to begin with, and just made sense.
And I like they're not invasive to use.

I've tried a tampon twice, and never really enjoyed them or felt like it worked for me.

I don't know if I would say they're enjoyable to use. It is what it is.
Of course, it's much better when I'm not on my period and can go without anything.

I change whenever I go to the bathroom. I don't bleed that much, so it's not that often anymore

What about menstrual cups? They're very comfortable, don't take up much space and are a lot more cost efficient. Not to mention environmentally friendly

I don't remember how long tampons and pads lasted for me but I'm a heavy bleeder. In public I just wipe it out with paper. At home I wash it. And once after the period I cook it out in a small pot I have just for this

I'm not going to use a thick pad when wearing a bikini... hello... lol
