Mix of both. See I'm happy to be single for years on end and also happy to make the first move from time to time should I see someone interesting enough. I don't base my self worth in having a doting partner, and I don't want to waste my time with idiots who get angry over my ability to have (different) morals and boundaries.

Batting and facing rejection everyday is sort of pointless so I'd rather just mind my own business until it's obvious that maybe we're both in the same spot in life, actually looking for the same things and perhaps could like each other.
