Do guys give their girlfriends/wives jewelry and flowers?

I give my girlfriend occasional flowers or some sort of gift like clothing that I know she will like sometimes but jewelry like earrings or a necklace might have to be a holiday or a birthday gift.

If they give you too much jewelry or excessive compliments they are likely cheating. Girls often fall for it and even tell their friends so their friends get upset at their own boyfriend/husband that doesn't give so much of that stuff. Then a while into the relationship, sometimes a year or two of getting lots of jewelry, etc. they find out that the guy was cheating.

It is a common pattern among cheaters, but no matter how often it happens, many women still fall for it.

From what I have seen IRL that tends to be the case. Normal people may give some jewelry, but the ones that give a lot or often, just like excessive compliments al the time, it is usually to throw off suspicion of cheating. Often it is accompanied with not being available to spend as much time together as they used to spend together.

I give mine second-hand designer clothes and shoes. Last year for her birthday I gave her two pairs of barely worn boots: one Gucci, one YSL.$300 each, but abut $2000 new.

you should communicate that you like receiving small gifts. i do it automatically, but some guys don’t think about it as necessary. different love language
