Why do 99% of the girls at my school still choose to the school uniform skirt after about 2 years ago my school allowed them to wear shorts and pants?

The purpose of school uniforms is to prevent social disparities among children as well as to have a relatively cheap garment.

Not everyone can afford designer clothes or brand names. The children of well off parents will want to show off by wearing expensive clothing and thus putting those that are not so rich under immense social pressure to match those clothes because they don't want to be seen as poorer or not be able to afford more expensive clothing.

This social pressure will then reflect on the parents that will be be burdened by their children to wear equally expensive clothing and for a family on a tight budget, it is simply not possible.

For the sake of everyone, uniforms are a much better alternative and creates social equality. Furthermore, uniforms look so much better than some of the rags that kids wear at school with torn jeans and crop tops.
